How To Clear History In Chrome Browser?: 9 Steps

How To Clear History In Chrome Browser

If you’re looking for a way to clear your browsing history in Google Chrome, then you’ve come to the right place! In this blog post, we’ll show you step-by-step instructions on how to quickly and easily erase your browser history so that anyone else won’t see it. Let’s get started!

By following these simple steps, I can easily clear my browsing history in Google Chrome.

Open Google Chrome

To begin clearing your history in Chrome, you first need to open the browser. Tap the Chrome app icon on your phone’s home screen or app drawer to achieve this.

Alternatively, you can type “chrome://apps” into the address bar of your web browser and search for the Chrome icon. Once you’ve opened the browser, you can proceed to the next step.

Click the 3 Dots

After opening Google Chrome, the next step is to click the three dots in the top-right corner of the application. This will open a drop-down menu that contains options for settings, downloads, and more.

Selecting the “Settings” option will open a window where we can adjust our browser’s settings and preferences. From here, we can choose to delete our browsing history every time we log out of the computer.

Select Settings

Once I had clicked the three dots in the top-right corner of my Google Chrome window, I was taken to the settings page. From here, I could access all the privacy and security settings that Google Chrome offers.

I could select which browsing data I wanted to clear, such as my browsing history, cookies, cached images and files, and more.

I could also choose a time range for which data should be cleared. This allowed me to customize how much data I wanted to clear from my browser each time.

Choose Privacy

Once I have clicked on the 3 dots in the top-right corner of the Google Chrome browser, I select Settings.

From here, I can access the Privacy settings, which allows me to control how my data is shared and used by Chrome.

This includes setting up blocking rules, managing cookies and site data, and clearing up my browsing history, cached images, and files.

Clear Browsing Data

click the 3 Dots menu in the top-right corner and select Settings. From there, choose Privacy, and then click on Clear Browsing Data.

You can then select the time range from which you’d like to clear your history and other data, such as cookies and cached images.

Make sure to check the box next to Browsing History before you hit Clear Data. Once you do that, all of your browsing histories will be cleared from Chrome.

Choose Time Range

Once I have opened the settings, I can choose a time range of my choice. This makes it easier to clear only the data I need. It is also possible to clear all my browsing history from the beginning of time.

To complete this, I must select ‘the beginning of time’ from the dropdown menu. If I want to clear only the recent browsing history, I can select ‘the last 24 hours’, ‘the last 7 days’, or ‘the last 4 weeks’.

This allows me to customize my privacy settings as per my preference.

Check Browsing History

Once I opened Settings, I next chose to view my browsing history. By doing this, I could see all the websites I had visited and the pages that were opened in my browser.

This is useful if I ever want to revisit a particular website or find something that I may have forgotten about.

It also helps me keep track of my online activity and ensure I’m not doing anything inappropriate or dangerous.

Clear Cookies and Site Data

Once I have selected the time range of data I want to clear, I can then check the box next to “Cookies and Site Data” to clear all cookies and site data stored in my browser.

This will help ensure that my browsing history is properly cleared and any other data associated with the sites I’ve visited.

Clearing this data can help protect my privacy and keep my information secure.

Clear Cached Images and Files

Now that we’ve cleared our browsing history and cookies, it’s time to clear our cached images and files.

Cached images and files are web page elements that are stored on our computer to speed up page load, but if these files take up too much space or become corrupted, they can cause problems.

Return to the Clear Browsing Data window to clear the cached images and files in Chrome. Ensure the Cached images and files box is checked, then click ‘Clear data’.

After that, all the cached images and files associated with your browsing history will be cleared.
